Why was Senior Guidebook started?
To provide a reliable resource of information for seniors and their families, and to support good decisions surrounding health and quality of living.
A recent inquiry to the Senior Guidebook from a gentleman in Portland, Oregon, who had picked up a current edition of the magazine at a hospital in Seattle, relates why the magazine was created.
His mother has reached a time in her life where it has become apparent that it would be best for her to be in a retirement/assisted living community. He wanted to know if there was a Senior Guidebook publication in the Portland area. He went on to remark that the color, content, and quality of the magazine was a huge support in his effort to encourage and excite his mother’s involvement in the decision. He mentioned that other publications he had come across did not accomplish the same response from his Mom.
This story encompasses all that the Senior Guidebook is about, creating an exciting visual for a senior at their point of need. Retirement, dementia and assisted living communities are evolving to provide activities, nutrition, and wellness programs to continue their energy for life.
